As a recruitment professional, you work every day to support your organization’s greatest asset: its people. At the American Physical Society, our people support the physics community, and a large network of science professionals. We’re looking for a Senior Recruiter to bring the best and brightest to our organization. You’ll do more than just fill jobs – your efforts will bring new skills and talent to APS, and directly support our mission to advance the physical sciences.


Position Summary:
As the new Senior Recruiter for APS, you’ll join the Human Resources team to manage the recruitment process for our offices in College Park, MD, Washington, DC, and Ridge, NY. You’ll create engaging job postings, source and screen candidates, organize and coordinate the interview process, and utilize our applicant tracking system (ApplicantStack) to process candidate flow throughout the recruitment lifecycle. You’ll work with hiring managers across the organization to ensure job priorities are aligned, and when a hire is made, you’ll lead the onboarding process.


You’ll be working at the forefront of employment branding, and serving as an ambassador for APS at job fairs, meetings, conferences, etc. Your efforts will help promote our values and reputation of excellence in science to every candidate you meet.

 

Is This You:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of high-volume recruitment experience, preferably in a membership or scientific-based organization.
  • You’re polished and professional, and have strong communication skills.
  • You’re highly organized: you can keep track of busy schedules, and change tasks and priorities on a dime.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems to organize the recruitment and onboarding life cycle.
  • Experience working with external staffing and recruitment partners.
  • If you’ve worked with scientists, academics, or other membership associations, all the better!
  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time.
